The International Conference on Historical Lexicography and Lexicology (ICHLL) provides scholars from different institutions an opportunity to gather and share their research on the history of dictionaries, the making of historical dictionaries, as well as on historical lexicology.
The theme of the Twelfth ICHLL conference will be "West meets East". In European, this means looking a historical dictionaries right across Europe from Portugal in the West to Georgia in the East. In global terms, in expresses our hope to welcome researchers from around the world.
The conference will be held in Lorient ('An Orient' in Breton), France from 22-24 June 2022. It is organised by the research groups TEMOS (UMR 9016) from the Université de Bretagne (Lorient) and Litt & Arts (5316) Université Grenoble Alpes, in collaboration with the International Society for Historical Lexicography and Lexicology.
The conference will on Wednesday 22 June with a welcome event and reception at the Université de Bretagne Sud. Oral and poster presentations will be scheduled on Wednesday 22nd, Thursday 23 and Friday 24 June. The conference will end around 5 pm on Friday. A preliminary programme will be published in March 2022.

International Society for Historical Lexicography and Lexicology
ICHLL2022 is presented in coordination with the International Society for Historical Lexicography and Lexicology. ISHLL is a society of scholars working on the history of the dictionary, the making of historical dictionaries, and historical lexicology. ISHLL was established as a result of the first International Conference on Historical Lexicography and Lexicology, which took place in Leicester in 2002. Subsequent conferences have been held at Gargnano del Garda, Italy (2004), Leiden, Netherlands (2006), Edmonton, Canada (2008), Oxford, UK (2010), Jena, Germany (2012), Gran Canaria, Spain (2014), Bloomington Indiana, USA (2016), Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy (2018), and Leeuwarden-Ljouwert, Netherlands (2019), Logroño, Spain (2021).
Conference attendants are kindly invited to become members of the Society. There is no membership fee. One becomes a member by signing up on the ISHLL listserv:
